Class Policies
Class Registration

To reserve a space in a class, it is necessary to pre-register and pre-pay for all classes.
- Registration may be done in person, by phone or on-line (www.kmisinc.com) using a credit card, check or cash.
- To help prevent cancellations, students are encouraged to register early.
- Students should check with the store before making any major purchases for a class.
- In the event that you wish to bring someone with you to class, a separate class registration for that person will be necessary.
Class Refund Policy
- Please contact Keep Me In Stitches Inc. at least seven (7) days prior to the start date of the class to receive a refund for the amount of the class fee in the event you cannot attend.
- There are no refunds for cancellations made less than seven (7) days in advance.
- No refunds will be given for “no-shows”.
- If Keep Me In Stitches, Inc. cancels a class due to low enrollment, teacher emergency or inclement weather, students will be notified by telephone and a refund in the amount of the class fee will be made.
Class Supplies
- Supply lists for every class are available for pick up at each store, or may be emailed or mailed upon request.
- All supplies should be purchased prior to the day the class begins. Class time cannot be used to purchase supplies.
- All supplies and fabric(s) are available at Keep Me In Stitches, Inc. The instructor for the class and/or a KMIS staff member is available to assist students with the selection of class supplies. In appreciation, students will receive a 10% discount on all class supplies purchased at KMIS.
- Due to copyright laws, if a book or pattern is required for a class, each student must purchase his/her own copy. There are no exceptions.
- Some classes (such as quilt classes) require additional time coordination when selecting supplies. You may schedule an appointment with a KMIS staff member to assist with these larger selections by contacting either store.
- Students may bring their own sewing machine with all of the appropriate parts (including the instruction manual) as long as it is in good working condition, or they may rent a sewing machine for $10 per class session.
- Students who experience great difficulty with their sewing machines during class, will need to rent a machine. It is very important that class time is maximized. Therefore, minimal time will be spent on troubleshooting machine problems.
Machine Rental Program
It is very important that all sewing machines brought to class are in good working condition and all machines should have a new needle. Machines not serviced within the last two years need to be serviced prior to class. Students who experience great difficulty with their sewing machines during class, will need to rent a machine. It is very important that class time is maximized. Therefore, minimal time will be spent on troubleshooting machine problems.
Rental sewing machines are available for in store classes for only $10 a session. This is a great opportunity to try the different machines to make sure you purchase one that is comfortable and within your budget. KMIS will honor any money spent on rental fees towards the purchase of a machine from KMIS.
KMIS offers a wide range of machines in all different price ranges. Please consult with a KMIS staff member if you are considering the purchase of a new machine. Several educators and KMIS staff members are knowledgeable with the general operation of the machines sold at KMIS. Therefore, students who purchase a machine from KMIS, can receive the appropriate technical support during classes.
Private & Group Lessons
We truly believe that we have some of the best educators in the areas of sewing, quilting, embroidery and software in the Tampa Bay area and collectively they have hundreds of years of experience. Our tremendous educational staff is available to work on a private one on one basis or with small groups. Private lessons are an excellent opportunity for children, teens and adults. For embroidery and embroidery software lessons there is a pre-requisite of an initial training class.
Call one of the stores to set up an appointment. Once the request is received, we will match the student(s) with an expert educator based on the individual or group needs and schedule. Prepayment is required before class is scheduled. All lessons will be held at KMIS.
Private Rates (Minimum of two hours per session)
2 hours = $70
Embroidery & Non-Digitizing Software
$50 per hour (Minimum of two hours per session)
Digitizing Software
$100 per hour (Minimum of three hours per session)
