It is necessary to pre-register and pre-pay for all classes. Class space is limited and fills quickly. Paying your class fee is what actually holds your place and prevents you from being dropped when the classes fill.

Register in person, by mail or phone using a charge card, check or cash. There are no refunds on classes. If you cancel at least 7 days in advance, you will be given a store credit for another class. If a class is cancelled - a full refund will be given or you may transfer the cost to another class. No transfers can be given for no shows.

  1. Keep Me In Stitches, Inc., is dedicated to sewing education. If you wish to take a portion of a class over again you may do so at no additional cost - just let us know because of space availability.

All class supplies must be purchased prior to class. Because we appreciate your business, we will give you a 10% discount on your class supplies. When registering, ask for the class supply list.

Be sure your machine is in good working order. It should have a new needle. If you have not had your machine serviced in two years... it's time.

Please Note: All quilting classes welcome all skill levels unless otherwise noted on an individual class. KMIS strongly encourages all students without quilting experience to begin by taking Beginning Quilting prior to any specialty classes.

Beginner Classes!Beginning Machine Quilting
This is the total quilting workshop for beginners. Learn to master techniques such as rotary cutting, strip piecing, perfect points, making the quilt sandwich, basic machine quilting, and binding. Students will complete the quilt within the four sessions with guidance from the teacher. A KMIS employee will gladly assist in selecting fabrics and other materials for the quilt prior to class (at least two days).The final product is a lovely quilt that looks much more difficult than it really is to make.

Fabulous Cut Flower Block
Learn how to create these stunning flower blooms that only look hard to make. Quilt your bloom, then finish the edges with a rolled hem on a serger (provided in class). After you create one, you will want to “grow” a whole garden of blooms that can be used to make placemats, table runners, or tote bags.

Free Motion Quilting - Beginning
Free motion, a creative embellishing quilting technique, is a fast and fun way to get quilt tops finished. Students will learn techniques to get started and experienced ones will learn how to take it to the next level.

Trees Up, Lights On!
Create this patchwork-like quilt that has a contemporary twist and is great for using fat quarters. A unique method to cut out the design allows for the quilt to be sewn in a snap. Instructions for the optional border (not included with the pattern) will only be provided during the class.

Embroidery Stabilizers & Perfect Placement
Learn how to achieve perfect placement and determine which stabilizer to use with each project during this lecture based demonstration. Instruction will include but is not limited to the following: different types of stabilizers; products to use in stabilizing different articles for embroidery; how to use templates that come with the hoops; how to attain perfect alignment with a variety of items such as hats, socks, and shirts; and how to use Embroiders Friend, The Snappy, and the Embroiders Buddy. Machine Rental Program

Want to take a class at KMIS and don't have a sewing machine or serger? Then talk to a staff member and you can rent one for in store classes only for $10 a session. All rental fees will go toward the purchase of a KMIS sewing machine or serger. This is a great opportunity to try out different machines to make sure you get one that is comfortable for you and within your budget.
